Seven months after bringing Photoshop to the cloud, Adobe has announced that over one million people have signed up for its Creative Cloud platform. Approximately 326,000 are paid subscribers of the service, which offers full access to Adobe’s CS6 package of design apps along with various touch-friendly smartphone software and exclusive benefits like cloud storage and online training. Unlike the traditional retail version of Creative Suite, regularly sold for over $1,000, Creative Cloud lets customers pay over time to use Adobe’s tools. Somewhat surprisingly, the company says most subscribers have opted for an annual payment structure, which works out to $49.99 monthly as opposed to a $79.99 month-to-month fee. Since its initial launch, Creative Cloud has expanded to include other applications like Lightroom 4 — a popular tool among photographers.

Adobe also today debuted Creative Cloud for Teams, a subscription model that adds extra functionality to those collaborating in a group. Unlike the 20GB maximum that applies to individual plans, teams will be given 100GB of cloud storage for each user. Teams will also receive specialized support from Adobe’s experts, and the company is promising a centralized billing system that should make managing software licenses a bit easier. Creative Cloud for Teams is available now at for $69.99 per month; an annual subscription is required, but existing CS users may be eligible for a discount.
