The free DLC, which launches today, also adds some new missions, a New Game Plus that lets you wear the various unlockable outfits wherever you want in the game, and a harder 00 difficulty. Seems like some great updates for an already excellent game.

The former NFL coach went deep on his extremely detailed Minecraft project in a nearly 20-minute video that was published yesterday. I love how much he thinks about lighting and good views.
The studio is ending development, according to a post today. Earlier this year, the team launched a Witcher-themed version of Reigns. And if you haven’t played Card Shark, you should!
Remedy just put out version 1.4.0 of the game, and it includes a huge list of updates, which are detailed in these very extensive patch notes. The highlight is the New Game ++ mode, but there are bunch of other quality of life improvements. My favorite? “Dylan now audibly reacts to doing Tasks.” Same, buddy.

A confident return for one of Xbox’s most iconic franchises is coming during a period of dramatic upheaval.
If you’re looking for a match-3 game to play on your phone that isn’t Bejeweled or Microsoft’s own Candy Crush, you can try Microsoft Jewel on iOS and Android. The game includes Xbox achievements, and if you sign in with your Microsoft account, your progress stays synced between the iOS, Android, and PC apps.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers coach will be showing off his “Minecraft City” in a YouTube video premiering tonight at 8PM ET. The description calls it an “episode,” so perhaps this is the first in a series.
Tomlin says he’s been working on the city, which he called his “secret obsession,” for 12 years. (Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, in a reply: “Well done Coach.”)
The Gen 2 version of Shure’s MV6 USB Gaming Microphone carries forward the original’s Auto Level Mode and Real-Time Denoiser but makes both features adjustable so you can dial in how loud your voice is in the mix and how much background din is heard. For $169, the MV6 Gen 2 also includes a longer 2-meter USB-C cable and introduces a new all-white color option.
The feature was initially launched for Xbox Insider testers but is now available for all.
Blaze Entertainment’s handheld remakes of the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum were supposed to launch in October but the company has “made the decision to move the release date from 15th October 2026 to 22nd April 2027” for all versions following production issues where it “identified areas where the product construction was not meeting our high standards.”
The projects are in the “very early stages” and both will “expand the canon of The Last of Us beyond Part I and Part II,” according to studio head Neil Druckmann.
He also says that the studio won’t give a “proper look” at its next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, until 2027.

The WSJ chronicles WS Game trying to build a bespoke version of the Monopoly board game using only American manufacturers. It mostly succeeded, but the result was far more expensive, of worse quality, took too long, and the dice still had to be sourced from China.
In China, WS Game tells factories what it wants, and asks them to make the idea a reality. The U.S. process was reversed. “We figured out what the factories’ capabilities were, then backed into the design.”
Now imagine trying to make an iPhone in the US.
Is Valve suing gamers!? Not exactly:
- Steam has been accused of being a PC gaming monopoly that extracts unreasonable fees
- But Valve’s forced arbitration clause kept lawsuits at bay
- So lawyers recruited thousands of gamers to do mass arbitration and force Valve to settle
- Valve got rid of forced arbitration, but thousands of arbitrations continued
- The 9th Circuit has agreed to hear Valve’s proposal to stop the mass arbitration; it’s consolidating those cases under this amusing new name.
The classic game decompilation movement has produced yet another amazing feat: 1999’s Lego Racers isn’t just back, the excellent Mario-Kart-meets-Lego game is anywhere you want it to be. NavigatorSharp’s fan recreation Step On It works in a web browser on desktop or phone, and you can find builds for Android, Mac, Windows PC and Linux (including the Steam Deck) right here too.
How does the former Sony PlayStation veteran think games will be made and played, especially now that gaming has become an increasingly expensive hobby? (And how’s he liking his Steam Machine?) Today on The Vergecast, he joins The Verge’s Sean Hollister to talk about the shifts in the gaming industry.

As distressing as it is to see the mutants in Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil up on the big screen, it’s very cool to see the experimental stunt work that went into the monsters’ creation.

One thing I was really missing from Control Resonant was a photo mode, but thankfully Remedy says that the feature is being added in November, so you’ll be able snap some beautiful shots of bizarro Manhattan. Before that, a New Game++ mode is being added next month.
