Google may not have revealed a new version of Android at I/O this year, but that’s not stopping the company from adding new features to the platform: it’s just announced a new version of Google Calendar. According to Google’s blog post, the new version features a number of aesthetic updates, including a redesigned interface for picking the date and time of an appointment, and the ability to use custom colors — letting users cause certain appointments to stand out. The interface for picking time zones has been refreshed, and Google has also tweaked how users schedule repeating events. The new Google Calendar will be rolling out in the Play Store over the next few hours, so if you don’t see it right now you’ll probably want to check back later — though you’ll have to be running Android 4.1 or higher to take advantage of the new custom colors.
