Wednesday’s top tech news: 2022 in review

Thousands of Twitter employees have left since Elon Musk&rsquo;s takeover of the social media firm, but the biggest resignation is yet to come. Musk himself &mdash; under pressure from Tesla investors worried about the car company&rsquo;s sinking stock price &mdash; said Tuesday night that he plans to resign as CEO of the company once he can find a &ldquo;foolish enough&rdquo; successor. However, Musk still plans to manage Twitter&rsquo;s software and server teams. We&rsquo;ll see if anyone&rsquo;s up for that kind of split in responsibilities with their owner and boss.
The same can&rsquo;t be said for noted coder George Hotz, who&rsquo;s leaving the company because he doesn&rsquo;t think &ldquo;there was any real impact [he] could make there.&rdquo;
The Verge is taking a look back at some of 2022&rsquo;s best and worst in entertainment, gaming, and science, but before time ran out ahead of 2023, we had to publish our in-depth video review of the Apple Watch Ultra.

In gadget news, we got to try out Dyson&rsquo;s wacky new air-filtering Zone headphones recently, and the public response was... far more muted than we were expecting?
So far, we haven&rsquo;t heard confirmation that YouTube will be the new home of NFL Sunday Ticket, but it should arrive soon.
But there&rsquo;s no guarantee that you&rsquo;ll get a similar response anywhere that isn&rsquo;t New York City. Finally, Anker&rsquo;s smart home brand Eufy is still on our naughty list. Although it now admits that there&rsquo;s a security flaw impacting its cameras, the company is still yet to apologize or properly answer our questions.
