Epic Games employee says a native Linux launcher is coming “soon.”

A staff member in the official Epic Games Store community Discord confirmed a Linux app is in the works, but won’t be in the next preview release, VideoCardz reports. Linux users currently have to use third-party tools like the Heroic Games Launcher to run games from the Epic Games Store.

Nvidia’s GeForce Now Linux app is officially out of beta.

Nvidia says the app’s full release brings “a more polished experience, plus gameplay optimisation with better DLSS Frame Generation.” It initially launched in beta on Ubuntu earlier this year, and Nvidia said at the time that it plans to add support for more distributions in the future.

Razer’s new mouse turns a divisive feature into a new button.

The $180 Razer Naga V3 Pro MMO mouse has mouse buttons under three fingers instead of two. The entire ring finger rest is a button. The rest has been polarizing for years — the original Naga even let you remove it — but the new button is optional. You can lock it with a switch.

This Steam Machine-inspired 5.5-liter PC is so damn clean.

Yes, it’s bigger than the 3.8-liter Steam Machine and the 4.5-liter Framework Desktop, but nicnic’s DIY desktop oozes style — and fits Valve’s open-source “Inkterface” e-paper status screen. If you don’t care for slime green, why not print your own in any color you like? The files are free.

What if Steam Machine faceplate = Steam Controller Dock?

And it’s got its own little kickstand to prop it up separately?? WANT. Check out more photos of NefariousnessWhole25’s prototype (and a few other cool Steam Machine faceplates from Reddit) in our gallery below.

It’s a good week for deals on multiplayer friend games with prox chat.

Big Walk came out this week, and it seems like a hoot if you have friends or family to play with. It’s $14.99 (down from $19.99) on Steam. Peak, which popularized the “friendslop” subgenre of co-op games, is even cheaper at Fanatical. You can grab the game for $3.75 (usually $8) today.

Lenovo pulls update that people say bricked their Legion Go handhelds.

Lenovo hasn’t replied to us yet, but we can see Lenovo’s BIOS page no longer shows the “N3CN42WW” version, only the earlier “N3CN40WW.” Earlier this week, PC Gamer reported that “N3CN42WW” was leaving some users’ devices stuck on a black screen.

Gigabyte’s bringing back AM4 motherboards.

It’s launching a new B550 X series “engineered to be the most powerful refresh of the AM4 platform,” which is now 10 years old, as PC Gamer reports. The new motherboards were designed around the Ryzen 7 8500X3D that AMD recently relaunched as component shortages continue to drive up prices.

Roblox is planning new voice and video chat features.

After announcing it’s shutting down Roblox Connect, Roblox said in its latest earnings report that it’s working on adding “integrated voice calls” and video chat, as alternatives to tools like Discord.

Our roadmap includes a plan to provide users the option to video chat with friends or stream with their Roblox avatar. Because the calls will originate within the Roblox app and accompany users as they move between games, they deliver a safer, richer, more immersive connection than any off-platform alternative.

I can’t stop staring through this PC with a curved glass front.

Maingear’s new Zero series of desktop PCs use 4mm-thick curved tempered glass for an airy, panoramic aesthetic. They come in Intel and AMD versions, starting at $2,699, with GPUs ranging from the RTX 5070 to RTX 5090.

Maingear and other manufacturers have done glass setups similar to this before, but the Zero series has no visible seams and it isn’t an ultra-limited edition run like last year’s Doom PC.

Valve just added HDR and AV1 Remote Play streaming for Steam Deck.

I’ve heard Steam Remote Play is finally reaching parity with Moonlight when streaming games to your Steam Deck. Now, Steam Remote Play is getting AV1 for theoretically even better compression, and HDR for the Steam Deck OLED’s screen. I like streaming, but I’d also like more devs to embrace Dynamic Cloud Sync

Logitech isn’t affected by RAMageddon — but a chipmaker ‘incident’ may cost it $20 million.

“We don’t have the same problems,” Logitech’s new gaming boss Robin Piispanen tells me during our wide-ranging chat, when I ask if PC builders are delaying peripheral purchases like other parts of their build due to RAM prices. In fact, Logitech’s gaming sales are up 12 percent YoY and 21 percent sequentially in today’s Q1 earnings.

But other chips might leave a dent:

in late June 2026, a serious incident in the manufacturing facilities of one of Logitech’s semiconductor suppliers resulted in its temporary closure, which is likely to impact the Company’s ability to effectively meet future demand. The Company is working on multiple mitigation plans.

Bethesda’s union claims laid off employees were told they’d have jobs until September.

The OneBGS union said in a post that Bethesda laid off some of its Canadian employees on July 17th, weeks sooner than employees were warned the layoffs would happen, PC Gamer reports. That same day, Bethesda announced it’s working on Fallout 5.

Valve made it easier to find games on your Steam wishlist.

As GamesRadar+ reports, you can now create custom categories for your wishlist, like “buy when on sale,” which could make organization easier for those of us with giant Steam wishlists (myself included). You can filter your wishlist by category and set custom notifications for specific categories.

It’s now easier to gift Steam games, even if you don’t have an account.

Valve has made improvements to its gifting processes in Steam, particularly for guest shoppers without an account. You can buy games, not just gift cards or hardware. You can also gift games to an email address, even if it’s not associated with the giftee’s account. Easier cross-region gifting, too. Good stuff.

Note the “Enter email” section that has been added. You don’t need to know the recipient’s Steam account, or have them added as a friend.

MSI’s special-edition dragon laptop costs nearly $7,000.

The Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic marks MSI’s 40th anniversary by maxing out the already-pricey Titan with a flashy dragon design, 96GB of DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia RTX 5090, and an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus. At least the $6,999 price tag also includes a bundled copy of LEGO Batman.

This gaming mouse is equipped with a teeny Noctua fan.

The Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition is made in collaboration with peripheral maker Pulsar Gaming Gears, and like other fan-equipped mice, is designed to cool sweaty palms during intense gaming sessions. It’s available starting today for $179.95, providing customizable fan speeds and a 8,000Hz polling rate.

Ayaneo’s Next 2 handheld got a $1,000 price hike.

PC Gamer spotted a listing for the Next 2 on Ayaneo’s website with a top configuration priced at $5,299. The same configuration, with 128GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, was already pricey at $4,299 earlier this year, before Ayaneo suspended preorders, saying the handheld was “unsustainable” due to skyrocketing RAM costs.

Marathon’s game director is passing the baton.

Bungie’s online extraction shooter, Marathon, is having a leadership change as game director Joe Ziegler announced on X that today is his final day with the company. Ziegler, former game director of Valorant, took on the role following former Marathon director Chris Barrett’s firing in August 2024.

Valve released the CAD files for the Steam Machine.

Can’t wait to see what people make using them. Hopefully some cool front plates?
